We worked in partnership with CCG and Weslo HA which involved 20 New energy Efficient Homes being built in an area of natural beauty adjacent to The Union Canal with views across to The Wallace Monument, Ochil Hills & Campsie Fells.
Our Sub Contractor Works Valued approx of £100K.
We had consultation periods with CCG and local ecologist with regards to badgers in the area. After various surveys it was found there were 14 sets on adjacent land. We had to comply with all legislation & allow for various meetings and site visits with the ecologist to ensure all legislation was being adhered to including altering working hours and practices to ensure minimal disruption to badgers and other wildlife.
To minimise sound from the adjacent railway line we installed Accoustic Fencing which was secured to steel works to ensure stability. We had to liaise with engineers and perform wind loading tests and provide certificates to ensure the structures could withstand high winds and back drafts from fast moving and regular trains on the main line from Edinburgh to Glasgow.
All materials had to be specially sourced, including all fixings.
We had to work closely with project and site managers having to ensure works were planned timeously and in conjunction with other trades and all deliveries were booked in to accommodate a steady progression of works. The project involved a closely monitored programme of works where the main element of the fencing and landscape works entailed working closely behind other trades to ensure houses were handed over in time for Christmas. Works also involved working in and around occupied homes as handover dates progressed.
We installed new timber palisade fences & gates, shrubs, trees, lawns, acoustic fencing, badger fencing and security gate, ground maintenance.
